Vincent finishes Ike's combined, long no-hit win

If it seems like a long time since Eisenhower has given up a hit, maybe it's because Warren County had a glimpse of all four weather seasons between the start and finish of the Knights' Region 4 game against Iroquois. After being suspended and postponed due to rain and snow, Kyle Hunt and Casey Vincent combined to throw Ike's third no-hitter of the season in a 5-0 win over the Braves that took just over 97 hours to complete - starting on Monday afternoon and wrapping up Friday at Werner Park.

Ike junior Vincent strives to be better

Times Observer photo by Jon Sitler Spring Sports Inside It's tough to hit a baseball in cold, wet weather, which is often the weather at the beginning of the northwestern Pennsylvania spring. It's getting tougher and tougher to hit Eisenhower High School junior Casey Vincent any time, so it shouldn't have surprised too many when he opened with a no-hitter on Wednesday against Otto-Eldred, striking out 13 and walking three over five innings, at Werner Park in Russell.
