    Naperville North takes two-game lead in DVC

    In a showdown between the DVC's top two teams, Naperville North escaped with Friday's intense 54-49 victory over Lake Park in Roselle. The win give the Huskies a two-game lead on Lake Park and at least a three-game lead on the rest of the conference with five games remaining.

    Reserves excel as Conant edges Lake Park

    The junior, who has seen limited time this season for Conant, helped spark the Cougars in the second half as they rallied to beat Lake Park 55-51. "It is just good to see that the hard work in have in practice pay off," said Deshazer, who led his team with a career-high 12 points including three 3-pointers.

    Shaw wins all-around, Lake Park takes DVC

    Lake Park senior Izzy Shaw spent her first DuPage Valley Conference meet as a member of the girls gymnastics team in 2015 as an outstanding supporter on the sidelines. Shaw won the all-around title, vault and floor exercise and, most importantly to her, helped the Lancers score 145.15 points at Neuqua Valley and capture their first conference title in more than a decade.

    Lake Park's Bogus earns Daily Herald MVP acclaim

    Kenny Bogus, Lake Park: The 6-foot-5 senior led the Lancers to a pair of victories that kept them in a first-place tie in the DuPage Valley Conference. Bogus scored 20 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished 6 assists and blocked 5 shots in a 44-43 win over Neuqua Valley, then tallied 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 blocks in a 51-47 win over Naperville Central.

    Naperville North edged the Lancers 70-67 in the first round of DVC play. "Knowing we're at the top, our coaches keep pushing us to win each game," said Lancers senior Bailey Vance.

    Invite win is good practice for Lake Park

    The Lancers' best professed practice was also their finest effort of the season; they edged Glenbard West, 147.05 to 146.375 to snag the championship. "I told the girls before the start of the meet that this was practice for the sectional," Lake Park coach Jake Luketin said.

    Bogus drops free throw, Lake Park drops Neuqua Valley

    Tied 43-43 with 55.5 seconds to play, after a timeout by Lake Park coach Josh Virostko the Neuqua defense allowed nothing for 55 seconds. On Kenny Bogus' last-ditch 3-point try the Wildcats were called for a foul with 0.5 seconds remaining.

    Playing against the odds

    When Lake Park's boys basketball team claimed last season's DuPage Valley Conference title, few were shocked. An experienced crew coming off a solid postseason run, the Lancers were expected to be contenders.
