    St. Helens could be among the surprise football team...

    Looking for a sleeper for this upcoming high school football season? St. Helens , a school with one state playoff appearance in 16 years, could be that team that emerges from a lengthy slumber. Parkrose coach Maurice France, so impressed with what he saw last season from a Lions team that was largely playing underclassmen, says St. Helens could finish first or second in the Northwest Oregon Conference this fall/ The Lions were 2-7 last season, but suffered few blowouts.

    Sunset cross country team to host second annual &quo...

    For the second consecutive year, the Sunset High School cross country program will host fundraiser to benefit the team and Shriners Hospital for Children. The event, called "Miles that Matter," begins on Friday, Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Sunset High School track, where a group of team members, alumni, coaches and family members will run as a team for 24 hours to collectively reach 1,000 miles.
