With 2:42 remaining and host Mandeville leading Ponchatoula , 24-21, on Thursday night, the Skippers faced a fourth-and-2 at the Green Wave 8. After unsuccessfully trying to draw Ponchatoula offside, Mandeville coach Guy LeCompte sent out the field-goal unit to try and up the lead to six. What ensued was craziness and controversy. Comment?

Ponchatoula has easily handled its last four opponents to start the season 4-0, but Week 5 will be a big test against a 6-5A foe. Mandeville is 3-1 on the season with its only lost coming to University Lab in Week 2. Divinity is leader of the Patriots defense and will likely show why he is one of the top prospects in the country against the Hurricanes. Comment?

The Green Wave recovered a fumble to end the first quarter and reeled off 21 unanswered points to earn a 28-14 win over Covington in the District 6-5A opener for both teams at Ponchatoula on Friday night. "We had great play from the offensive lineman, and we were able to move the ball," said Ponchatoula quarterback Jeb Kraft, who finished 7-of-11 passing for 129 yards and three scores. Comment?
