    HS Football: Wyoming Valley West at Delaware Valley

    After securing the game-clinching interception and with nothing but open field ahead, the Delaware Valley star jogged, ran out the clock, then fell to the turf. His exhaustion was well earned as he ran for 373 yards on 25 carries, had 16 yards receiving, finished with 400 total yards and four touchdowns.

    Wyoming Valley West is considered the best football team from the Wyoming Valley Conference and possibly in all of District 2. So when the two power collide tonight, it should be a contest that sets the tone for the rest of the season. "When we started to build this program at Delaware Valley, we wanted to get to the point where we had as many big and important games as possible," Delaware Valley coach Keith Olsommer said.

    New season brings new divisions to WVC

    Offseason realignment of the Wyoming Valley Conference's boys soccer divisions has broken up the former Division 1, which housed Coughlin, Crestwood, Dallas, Hazleton Area, Lake-Lehman and Wyoming Valley West. The six teams went a combined 52-33-5 in 2013.
