    JA, WJ boys pick up wins

    The Jonathan Alder boys soccer team bounced back from a disappointing loss with a strong victory over Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference foe Pleasant Thursday, Sept. 18. The Pioneers topped the visiting Spartans 3-1, putting a smile on the face of coach David Lanka.

    Fresh off last week's first win of the season, the Jonathan Alder High School football team played host to Clarksville Clinton-Massie Friday, Sept. 12. The Pioneers put in a tough effort but couldn't overcome the daunting task of facing the defending state champion, falling to the Falcons 49-0.

The Jonathan Alder volleyball team's season seems to be coming along nicely following an unexpected defeat a couple weeks ago at the hands of Galion. The Pioneers bounced back with a pair of key Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference victories over Buckeye Valley last Tuesday and Marion Harding Thursday, and then easily downed Madison County foe West Jefferson 25-7, 25-9, 21-25, 25-14 Saturday, Sept 6. The squad will look to keep things going when they play Tuesday at Pleasant and at home Thursday, Sept.
