    Harris, Normandin send Eagles past Belmont

    GILFORD For the first time in program history, playoff talk is being whispered around the Gilford High School girls' lacrosse team. The Golden Eagles were at it again last week at The Meadows, jumping out to a big lead and not looking back en route to a 17-8 win over Belmont High School on May 12. The win, combined with a wild 15-14 victory over Pelham two days later, continued to add to the program's single-season record-breaking win total.

    'Toppers get forfeit win vs. Pythons

    As the result of a dispute between Pelham High School baseball head coach Billy Beauchesne and home plate umpire James Hale, Wednesday's Division III matchup between Pelham and Somersworth came to a close in the home half of the third inning. The Hilltoppers were ahead 8-1 and had no outs in the frame when the game was declared a forfeit.
