    N-N baseball stays unbeaten with win over Massena

    One strong start helped the Norwood-Norfolk Central varsity baseball team extend another on Thursday as the Flyers stretched their undefeated start to the 2015 NAC season by claiming a 6-1 interdivisional decision over former Central Division rival Massena Central at Vern Burrows Field. Lefty Zach Benware earned the win, going three and a-third innings where he fanned three and walked two while scattering five hits as the Flyers built a 3-0 lead after two innings then sealed the win with a three-run rally in the bottom of the fifth after Massena has scored its only run in the fourth.

    N-N surges to NAC East softball win over M-W

    The Norwood-Norfolk Central varsity softball team steadily pulled away to a 14-3 NAC East Division win at home over Madrid-Waddington on Wendesday. Bryanna Powell earned the decision, striking out seven, walking one and limiting the Lady Yellowjackets to just three hits through five innings as the Lady Flyers took early control with a five-run outburst in their first at-bat.

    N-N, SLC, notch NAC East baseball wins

    Norwood-Norfolk Central used a fast start while St. Lawrence Central needed a dramatic comeback in posting NAC East Division varsity baseball wins on their home diamonds on Wednesday. N-N 17, Madrid-Waddington 2: At Vern Burrows Field, the Flyers pushed across three runs in their first at-bat then put the game out of reach with a nine-run barrage in the bottom of the fifth after the Yellowjackets had generated their first two runs to make it 5-2.

    Sebastian Quintilliani won three events to lead the Ogdensburg Free Academy boys track and field team to a 153-85 win over Norwood-Norfolk in a Northern Athletic Conference dual meet Tuesday. Quintilliani won the long jump, high jump and triple jump for the Blue Devils .

    N-N track teams settle for NAC split against OFA

    The Norwood-Norfolk Central track teams settled for an NAC split against their OFA counterparts on their home circuit on Tuesday. In the girls meet, junior Kaycie Saucier logged a pair of individual wins and shared in a pair of winning relay efforts as the Lady Flyers posted a 174-143 decision.

    N-N, BMC baseball teams roll to NAC East wins

    The Norwood-Norfolk and Brushton-Moira varsity baseball teams pulled away to decisive NAC East Division victories at their home diamonds on Monday. N-N 12, Chateaugay 1: In a game that was called after six innings by mutual consent, the host Flyers surged to a 10-0 lead after three innings before going on to secure their fourth East win in as many games.

    Bryanna Powell struck out five in five-inning shutout where she scattered seven hits, earning the Defensive Most Valuable Player honors and helping the Norwood-Norfolk softball team capture a 7-0 victory over Edwards-Knox in the Big Green Classic championship game on Saturday. Cassidy Weaver fanned three batters and allowed three walks in a five-inning one-hitter to power the Flyers to a first-round victory in the Big Green Classic.

    Flyers blank Lumberjacks

    Zack Benware scattered four singles over five innings while striking out five on Friday as the Norwood-Norfolk baseball team shutout Tupper Lake 6-0 in Northern Athletic Conference East Division play. Zeb Brown stroked two hits, scored a run and stole a base while catcher Tristan St. Andrews singled, walked twice, scored three runs and stole five bases to lead the Flyer offense.

    SLC, C-P softball teams fashion NAC East wins

    St. Lawrence Central rallied to thwart Norwood-Norfolk 12-11 in nine innings while Colton-Pierrepont worked its way to a 7-4 decision over Chateaugay in NAC East Division softball matchups on Friday. SLC 12, N-N 11 : At Brasher Falls, the visiting Lady Flyers scored early and then often in building an 11-7 lead through seven at-bats before the Lady Larries staged a dramatic comeback that ended with junior Haleigh Agans delivering a game-winning one-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth.
