    RWA boys pull out close victory over Newberry, 49-46

    The Richard Winn Academy boys were looking to avenge a close loss when they hosted the Newberry Academy Eagles and they did just that, pulling out a 49-46 victory. "They're very exciting but stressful for a coach, and it feels great to get the win," Coach Joe Pitt said.

    Lady Eagles notch blowout win against Newberry Academy

    The Richard Winn Academy Lady Eagles hosted Newberry Academy in their final home game of the regular season, and decimated the Lady Eagles of Newberry, 65-11. This was Richard Winn's fifth straight home game, and it was the third time during that home-stand that the RWA Eagles won by at least 50 points.

    Lady Bulldogs defeat Lady Rebels by 15

    Trailing by a mere point after both of the first two quarters, the Mid-Carolina High School Lady Rebels were giving the sixth-ranked Lady Bulldogs of Newberry High all they could handle Friday evening. Newberry would go on a 7-1 run in the first 2:21 of the third quarter and pull away for their sixth straight victory on the season with a 55-40 victory.

    Chapin QB Logan Bailey, Mr. Football finalist, choos...

    The Citadel got a signing day bonus Wednesday when Chapin High School quarterback Logan Bailey, a finalist for the state's Mr. Football Award, signed a letter of intent with the Bulldogs. Bailey, 6-0 and 198 pounds, had offers from Newberry and Limestone, and received late recruiting attention from South Carolina.

    Lady Dogs win third straight, improve to 14-4

    Newberry High School's Tyshyria Bates' three-pointer with three minutes to go in the first quarter put the Lady Bulldogs up for good Tuesday evening at Eau Claire as they improved to 14-4 on the season and 5-1 in regional play after their 61-36 victory. Already down by 16 at the half, Eau Claire had another thorn in its side as four of their seven players already had three or more fouls.
