    Sam Majewski and Gerritt Merrill came around to score the game-tying and game-winning runs on a ground ball by TJ King, helping the Nauset Warriors beat the Oxford Pirates, 5-4, for an emotional win at Eldredge Park on Saturday evening. Paul Prue pitched seven innings of shutout relief and Nauset scored all five of its runs in the final two innings to pull out the win for Brennan Chisholm, who was carted off in an ambulance after being kneed in the head during a play in the opening half inning.

    Softball: Durfee OK with growing pains

    The long season for the young Durfee High School softball team continued on May 18 as they finished on the short end of a 12-3 decision against New Bedford. Despite a 2-14 season record, Durfee loaded with young talent.

    In Tuesday's 12-6 win over Fairhaven, she notched a game-high six goals to reach 110 for her career, including 30 this season. “I'm excited,” said Gamache of being in the 100-goal club.
