    Blackman defense crushes Cookeville in 45-14 win

    If that was the case, the Blaze defense was certainly the king Friday night when they dismantled Cookeville 45-14 at "The Inferno." Blackman's defense allowed only 42 yards in total offense in the first half, and in the third quarter, unleased a ferocious pass rush that left Cookeville rendered helpless.

    Johnny Crouch kicked a 19-yard field goal with five seconds remaining, Jariel Wilson rushed for the three touchdowns and a pair of Centennial newcomers debuted with a bang as the Cougars held on a for a wild 37-34 win at Riverdale Friday. Crouch's field goal split the uprights with one second remaining and despite three laterals on the ensuing kickoff, the home-standing Warriors couldn't muster up any magic giving Centennial coach Matt Kriesky his first head-to-head win against his twin brother Will, who is the head coach for Riverdale.

    Oakland deals Blackman first loss of the season

    Friday night was no exception, as Oakland handed Blackman its first loss of the season in a 24-14 win at Ray Hughes Stadium. In addition to the packed stands, several college recruiters were in town to watch the collection of Division I talent on the field, including Oklahoma commit Woodi Washington, Arkansas commit Adonis Otey, MTSU commit Micaleous Elder and four-star receiver Trey Knox, who is uncommitted.
