    She started with two free throws, then followed that up with a 2-point basket and 3-point basket over the next few minutes. She was scoring at will against the Applemen, something that happened in both of Martinsburg's game's last week.

    Bulldogs' bench helpful in win

    Both offensively and defensively, every player that hit the floor for Martinsburg made a contribution in a 69-32 win over the Applemen. That made for an even happier Hall, who not only got the win, but got to see what kind of depth his team has and what, in particular, his supporting cast can do.

    AOW: Jones steps up on court for Bulldogs

    On most occasions, Jones has been the Bulldogs' leading scorer and has helped his team to a 7-3 record so far this year. Jones' contributions became even more important last week when a trio of Martinsburg starters went down to injury in a week where the Bulldogs played two key sectional games.

    Jefferson girls look to grow early success

    The idea behind front-loading the schedule with difficult matchups was always to get the Jefferson girls basketball team accustomed to playing top-notch opposition and what would be required of them to make a postseason bid. With those games, of course, come there fair share of defeats.

    Cougars eye rebound after tough week

    It goes without saying that Jefferson coach Richard Lewis certainly would have liked for his basketball team to win a few more games during the first half of the season. Last week, Jefferson book-ended a victory against Musselman with its first conference loss of the season against Martinsburg and later a non-league defeat by Norfolk Collegiate .

    Nunn leads Martinsburg girls over Hampshire

    Kristen Nunn scored a game-high 37 points in leading Martinsburg to an 82-62 win over Hampshire in girls basketball action on Tuesday. Also for the Bulldogs , Taylor Ferguson had 18 points, Alexus Bonner 14 points and Cameron Awkard 12 points.

    Injured Bulldogs knock off Spring Mills

    Martinsburg didn't let injuries hinder it on its way to a 67-46 win over Spring Mills on Friday. Martinsburg went on a 17-6 run through the first quarter.
