The Shenendehowa field hockey team earned its second Class A state semifinal berth in three seasons with a 2-0 win over Section III champion Fayetteville-Manlius on Sunday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School . Shenendehowa, which improved to 18-1 on the season, will meet Ward Melville of Section XI at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Maine-Endwell High School. Comment?

Teryan Marra scored in the first half and Emily Fraser tallied in the second to lead Shenendehowa to a 2-0 victory over Fayetteville-Manlius in a Class A state quarterfinal field hockey game on Sunday. Dozens of girls high school basketball teams will get a jump on the season Saturday in a tournament that organize hope both honors and raises money for longtime Corcoran coach Jim Marsh. Marsh Madness will feature a series of preliminary games at four area high schools - Baldwinsville, Central Square, Cicero-North Syracuse and Fayetteville-Manlius - that lead up to a pair of semifinal games and a final at Corcoran High School on Saturday night.
