    Madison Academy coach Andy Blackston said he pulled aside Myles Parker , Collin Blanchard and Calvin Walker and stressed the necessity of all three playing well in the postseason. The 5-foot-10 senior scored 12 straight points in the third quarter after Saks turned a 41-34 halftime deficit into a 46-all tie and the Mustangs rode Blanchard's hot hand to a 78-69 victory in today's boys Class 4A Northeast Regional championship game at Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville.

    Madison Academy rallies for OT victory in NE Regional

    Madison Academy will remember this rally. Trailing as much as 15 points late in the third quarter of a Class 4A Northeast Regional Semifinal, the Mustangs embarked on a comeback which forced overtime where they finished off Handley 86-83 at Jacksonville State University's Pete Mathews Coliseum.

    Following Madison Academy's thrilling 86-83 overtime win over Handley, Andy Blackston, like many coaches, summed the game perfectly: "Basketball is a game of runs," he said. After Handley held a 15-point lead with 3:55 left in the third quarter, Madison Academy used its 9-for-13, fourth-quarter free-throw shooting to claw back into the game and force overtime.
