    What makes playing basketball in the town of Lynden ...

    As a kid, he shot hoops in his backyard pretending he was on the floor of the Jake Maberry Gymnasium. He even had a newspaper clipping signed by one of his favorite players, Treven Vander Ploeg.

    La Center boys basketball team clinch a long-awaited...

    It was crazy week for the La Center boys basketball team that began with a triple-overtime loss and ended with a guaranteed two more weeks of basketball. The Wildcats not only clinched the 1A Southwest District's last berth to regionals with their 58-46 victory over Forks in Friday's night's third-place game at W.F. West High School, they'll also play basketball in Yakima for the first time in 14 seasons.

    LC boys basketball keeps on rolling with win over No...

    Lynden Christian kept its postseason winning streak going with its fourth consecutive victory and a Class 1A Bi-District Tournament championship game win over The Northwest School, 54-44 on Friday. The visiting Lyncs were led by Grant Rubbert who shared the game-high in points with 14 with teammate Cole Bajema, and led the Lyncs in rebounds with 10. He helped Lynden Christian outrebound Northwest by 15 boards and also chipped in six assists.
