Thursday night started off great for Nixon but ended in horror as the Mustangs are held off the scoreboard over the final three quarters, falling to Medina Valley 14-10. The Texas Lutheran volleyball team won two of its three matches last week at the Trinity University Fall Classic in San Antonio, defeating Rowan 3-0 on Friday and Nebraska Wesleyan 3-1 on Saturday morning before falling to Our Lady of the Lake 3-1 in the tournament finale Saturday afernoon. We are another week into the high school football season and again the Texas Coaches regional rankings are out with a trio of Laredo area teams earning at least a mention in their respective polls. United enters their bye week off maybe the best win of the season for the Longhorns downing Corpus Christi Carroll 48 to 38. Despite beating another South Texas power, United actually dropped one spot from ninth to 10th in the 6A region four rankings. Comment?

Every Longhorn commit who played in week 4 walked off the field a winner. They'll all have to be on their A game for that to happen in week 5. In Week four of the Texas high school football season, Sam Ehlinger did more damage with his legs than his arm, Tope Imade's team got their first win of 2015, and a key 2016 commit who was injured in Week 3 announced that his season was over.
