    Lady Vikes fumble away opportunities, lose to Murrah

    With a little more than two minutes left Friday night, the Warren Central Lady Vikes were right where they expected to be - if not necessarily where they wanted to be - in the Division 4-6A tournament championship game against Murrah. By the time the clock bled out to all zeroes, however, the Lady Vikes were where they've been for far too long - watching another team celebrate a division title.

    New Hope, West Point primed to start district play

    As the close losses mounted in January, New Hope High School boys basketball coach Drew McBrayer never lost confidence in his team. One of the preseason favorites to compete for a Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 5A championship, the Trojans had to fight through a series of tough losses in a difficult schedule.

    Brandon snaps Gatorsa winning streak

    The Vicksburg Gators dug a hole for themselves Tuesday night against Brandon. And then, every time it seemed like they had some traction and were about to climb out, the ground gave way beneath their feet and they slid right back down into the pit.
