Wachusett solidified its status as a Division 2 title contender, scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter to take down the top-ranked Pioneers, 35-25.

    If the Wachusett Regional boys' cross-country team was looking for a momentum-building win heading into the league and district meets, it got one in Saturday's 57th Wachusett Invitational. Sparked by race winner Grant Hauver, a junior who covered the 5K course in 17:01, the Mountaineers captured three of the top seven spots, enabling them to win Class A, beating second-place Newton South in a tiebreaker.

    Mountaineers' cross-country runners swift to win

    Proud of their undefeated record so far, the runners on Wachusett Regional High School's girls' cross-country team - from the freshmen to the seniors - showed a lot of spirit during the recent Spirit Week activities. Seniors Audrey Keohane and Erika Wilson are the team captains, leading the way along with another talented senior, Brittany Charlonne, and the team's top runner, junior Kate Gobi.

    Red-hot Leominster knocks off Wachusett

    After starting the season with two straight losses, the Blue Devils have regrouped and are playing some real good football at the moment. Leominster rode a strong defensive effort, and the offense kicked into gear with Noah Gray throwing the ball and Eddie Rivera running it for an impressive 35-9 Division 2 victory over previously undefeated Wachusett Regional Friday night at Hal Lane Field.
