    Lady Warriors set for playoff clash

    Christian Pollard and the Oak Mountain Academy girls' basketball team begin their state playoff trek tonight when they face First Presbyterian Christian in the first round of the GISA Class AA state playoffs. Lilly Parmer and the Lady Warriors enter the state tournament as a two seed after falling to Flint River, 44-38, in the Region 1-AA Tournament championship game last Friday.

    Liberty County ready to repeat

    Liberty County High School girls and boys basketball teams and Bradwell Institute girls basketball teams prepare for the 2017 Georgia High School Association State Basketball Tournaments, with first round matchups beginning this Friday Feb. 17 and Saturday Feb. 18. The Lady Tigers of Bradwell will travel to Tucker, Georgia to compete against Tucker High School in the Class AAAAAA girl's bracket. Tucker High won the state championship in 2014 when they were in the Class AAAAA division.

    Liberty County wins region

    The Liberty County High School boys varsity team defeated Tattnall County High in the Region 2-AAA basketball tournament finals with a final score of 72 to 63. This is the third straight region tournament Liberty County won and the second straight region championship for head coach Julian Stokes. The region win secures a home state playoff game for the Panthers.
