    Some night work next for football Redhawks

    In the wake of two home defeats in the daylight, the 0-2 Champlain Valley Union High football team will try a night shift Friday, when they motor to Burlington High for a 7 p.m. clash with the 1-1 Seahorses. Coach Jim Provost's Hawks could be a big grouch after suffering a 22-21 nipping Saturday by the 1-1 Essex High Hornets, a blocked point-after try late in the third quarter the difference in the contest.

    Next up for CVU gridders: 0-1 Essex High Hornets

    Pushed around Saturday by a huge Colchester team with a platoon of powerful and elusive running backs, the Champlain Valley Union High football team is getting ready for a second straight home game, this time with the 0-1 Essex High Hornets in Hinesburg this Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff. "We have to put Humpty-Dumpty back together again," said CVU head coach Jim Provost Sunday in the wake of the 46-19 crunching handed the Redhawks by the Lakers.
