    Unbeaten Hampden boys basketball surges late to hold...

    The Hampden Academy and Bangor boys basketball teams were engaged in a defensive battle of the highest order Friday night - until Nick Chasse introduced some sudden offense to the rivalry. Back-to-back 3-pointers from the right corner by the Hampden sixth man broke open a one-point contest and sparked the undefeated Broncos to a 57-47 victory at Red Barry Gymnasium.

    Hampden junior earns state's Gatorade boys cross-cou...

    Paul Casavant, who led the Hampden Academy boys cross-country team to its second consecutive regional Class A and Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference championships last fall, has been named the 2015A -2016 Gatorade Maine runner of the year in that sport. The 5-foot-6, 135-pound junior is the first Gatorade Maine Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year to represent the Broncos.
