    Trojans rally but fall to state-ranked opponent

    When the eighth-ranked team in Class 4A converts 69 percent of its field-goal attempts the way Lawrence North did Friday night, a blowout ensues more often than not. Such odds failed to apply to Center Grove, which gamely battled back into a game it seemed to be out of before falling to the Wildcats 69-63.

    Greenwood's struggles on offense continue in loss

    Offensive struggles continued to plague the Greenwood boys basketball team Friday night in a 61-36 loss to visiting Shelbyville. The Woodmen , who have dropped four consecutive games, were kept under 40 points for the sixth time this season.

    Center Grove plays well in MIC defeat

    The scoreboard at Lawrence North showed another loss to a ranked team by the Center Grove girls basketball team Friday night. But the story of the game was a terrific defensive effort by the Trojans, correctable errors on the offensive end and the promise that a brutal regular-season schedule will have the team prepared for the IHSAA state tournament.

    Greenwood hangs tough until 2nd half

    Center Grove's girls basketball team will play for a share of the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference championship for a third straight season Friday. Trojans coach Shawn Sanders wanted to see the players fine-tune their games Tuesday at county rival Greenwood in preparation for that matchup.

    Kyle Stidom scored 2,059 points while playing boys basketball at Greenwood Christian Academy from 2009-12, a sum presently ranking him 35th all-time in Indiana.
