Franklin scored 2571/2 points for its spot while Cedarburg scored 395 points and edged Brookfield for the title while and host Greyhounds were third . As has been the modus operandi all season, the Sabers used a series of thirds through sixths to build up their point total.

    Oak Creek girls smash two SEC opponents to stay in lead

    Having lost a high-level nonconference game to Chicago Marshall just days before, the defending WIAA state champion Oak Creek girls basketball team took out its frustrations on a pair of Southeast Conference opponents last week. The Knights hammered Kenosha Bradford 68-15 on Jan. 13 and then belted Racine Case 66-35 on Jan. 16 to improve its league-leading mark to 6-0 and its overall record to 9-4.

    Prep highlights of the week

    This past week saw the end of two long conference winning streaks. Racine Horlick beat Racine Case , 63-58, on Tuesday to snap a 34-game Southeast Conference streak that dated to the end of the 2011-'12 season.
