    Franklin's Reese Glover poured in 41 points, the most by a Rebel in at least 20 years, leading Franklin to a key 79-66 District 11-AAA victory over Centennial Friday night. Glover hit on 14-of-19 shots from the field, including a near perfect 7-of-9 from behind the three-point line.

    Over the last 35 years, Franklin and Brentwood have participated in enough classic athletic contests on the field and court to fill a book the size of War and Peace. Trailing 48-41 entering the fourth quarter, the Rebels opened on a 15-7 run, taking a 56-55 lead with just 3:40 left to play on a Reese Glover 3-pointer.

    Girls Hoops: Centennial falters at Overton tourney

    Lapses on both ends of the floor proved costly for Centennial in Wednesday's opening round of the Overton Christmas Tournament, as Antioch put together a game-turning first-half run and grabbed a 62-46 victory. The Lady Cougars committed 15 turnovers in the opening two periods, as Antioch overcame an early 9-3 deficit with a decisive 23-2 run.

    In a game which didn't tip off until 9:30 p.m., an hour past its scheduled start, Alcoa caught and passed Lebanon in the fourth quarter of a 68-61 win in the Battle of Franklin semifinals at Battle Ground Academy. Lebanon led 21-12 following the first quarter before Alcoa climbed to within 34-31 by halftime and 49-46 going into the fourth.
