    Jefferson girls prevail in pool

    Beating a strong team like Fairmont Senior made the accomplishment even more impressive and was a bit of a confidence booster heading into the state swim meet in less than two weeks. The Cougars were just that, impressive, as they racked up 147 points to the Polar Bears'132.

    Blue Devils 3rd at Bob Zide Rumble

    The Gallia Academy wrestling team claimed third place out of 23 teams on Saturday at the Bob Zide Rumble, hosted by Williamstown High School. Shadyside won the competition with a score of 181.5, followed by East Fairmont with a 173 and GAHS with a 166.5. Three Blue Devils earned first place on the day, they were senior Anthony Sipple and juniors Jared Stevens and Kaleb Crisenberry.

    Shadyside top team at Bob Zide Rumble

    Matthew Colvin got to wrestle and defeat the same wrestler twice at the Bob Zide Rumble here Saturday at Williamstown High. Belpre High's senior 170-pounder decisioned Madonna's Garrett Cook, 5-4, in his second match, and then beat him again decisively with a pin in the consolation finals to place third in his weight class.
