    The Sacred Heart Greenwich field hockey team ran its record to 5-0 with a 4-0 win over visiting Westminster School on Saturday. Sydney Gallop gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead with a goal at the 5:46 mark of the first half.

    Ludlowe edges Norwalk in comeback win

    Aidan Wykoff had just scored from a yard out with 1:38 to play, bringing Ludlowe within one point in what had been a back and forth offensive battle against Norwalk. On the previous Falcons touchdown, the extra point had been blocked and Ross, admittedly a little hesitant, decided to play for the win.

    Fairfield Prep gets best of NFA 24-12

    Fairfield - The Norwich Free Academy defense looked good to Fairfield Prep coach Keith Hellstern when he was watching film to prepare for this game. And it looked good in the first quarter Friday too, a game between Class LL opponents which began in the daylight with a 6 p.m. start and finished under the lights at Fairfield University's Rafferty Stadium.

    Going for it on fourth and one just a minute into the game, Trumbull coach Marce Petroccio told his quarterback, Colton Nicholas to do what he does best, push the ball forward. It might have been just a two-yard gain, but it was more than enough to get the Eagles the momentum they needed.

    Harrison's return helps spark Prep past ND-West Haven

    Senior running back Doug Harrison, who missed the final nine games of last season after undergoing ACL surgery on his left knee, started for the first time in almost a year and looked much like the player that rushed for over 1,000 yards as a sophomore as Fairfield Prep opened its 2018 season with a convincing 41-20 victory over Notre Dame-West Haven Friday night at Rafferty Stadium. "It was great to be back out there, the team played great," Harrison said.

    That type of losing culture takes time to shake but Friday night at Taft Field, the Falcons took a huge step towards learning how to be a winning program, beating Westhill 29-21. The win set off a celebration worthy of a state championship as the large student section streamed onto the field at the final whistle and kept on partying into the parking lot after the game.
