    The Fairfield Central boys basketball team picked up two big region wins this week and extended the winning streak to eight. The Griffins are now 8-1 in 2A Region III play and in prime position to make a run at the post season.

    Lady Bulldogs defeat Lady Rebels by 15

    Trailing by a mere point after both of the first two quarters, the Mid-Carolina High School Lady Rebels were giving the sixth-ranked Lady Bulldogs of Newberry High all they could handle Friday evening. Newberry would go on a 7-1 run in the first 2:21 of the third quarter and pull away for their sixth straight victory on the season with a 55-40 victory.

    North Augusta looking to bounce back

    MCHS wrestling team posts historic win

    This year the wrestling team at Mid-Carolina High School made history when they won regionals. This win was the first time in the program's history, according to Head Coach Ethan Campbell.

    Bulldog boys lose hard fought game

    With the boys teams of both Columbia High School and Newberry High looking for a regional game that would greatly boost their playoff potential, the Capitals were able to complete a regional sweep of Newberry on Monday in the Scott Gym with a 69-67 victory. Newberry turned a one-point lead after the first quarter, 18-17, into a two-point advantage at the break, 31-30.

    Lady Dogs win third straight, improve to 14-4

    Newberry High School's Tyshyria Bates' three-pointer with three minutes to go in the first quarter put the Lady Bulldogs up for good Tuesday evening at Eau Claire as they improved to 14-4 on the season and 5-1 in regional play after their 61-36 victory. Already down by 16 at the half, Eau Claire had another thorn in its side as four of their seven players already had three or more fouls.

    Bulldog boys pick up huge road win

    Hoping to end the first half of regional play with a 3-3 record, the Newberry High School boys basketball team did just that as they never trailed in their 63-50 road victory at Eau Claire on Tuesday. Leading by nine points after the first quarter, Newberry upped their advantage by a lone point in the second quarter to having the 36-26 lead at the break.
