The Cavaliers won the next two sets 25-11 and 25-8 and then rallied from down 13-8 to win the fourth set 25-19 to take the non-conference match against their Mercer County neighbor on Tuesday night at the Palace. For the first time in almost three years, the St. Marys Roughriders dropped a Western Buckeye League match Tuesday night against Celina. On a chilly, windy and rainy night, the Roughriders offense could not muster much as they dropped a 1-0 decision to the Bulldogs, hurting their chances to win a third straight WBL title after winning the last two. There's no love lost between Celina and St. Marys, evident by the physicality and emotion shown on both sides during Monday night's Western Buckeye League girls' soccer match at Roughrider Field. Both groups put forth maximum effort, but in the end, the Bulldogs cruised to a 3-0 win against a St. Marys' team that was forced to play the majority of the match with only 10 players after a red card was issued early in the first half. The St. Marys Roughriders are the first-rated team in Division III, Region 10. You read that right, the Roughriders, who have started the season at an impressive 4-0 and 3-0 in the Western Buckeye League, are ranked first in the first weekly computer ratings release of the 2015 high school football season. In Divisions II through VII, the top eight teams in each region will qualify for the playoffs. Comment?

Tight defense and a questionable call that could have gone either way determined a down-to-the-wire varsity girls soccer match between St. Marys and Bath Tuesday night. In a match between two of the four top schools in the Western Buckeye League, the Roughriders gave it their all Tuesday night and in some ways, looked to be the better team, but ultimately, Bath prevailed 2-1, landing atop of the league combined with a Wapakoneta loss. The Titans fell behind two touchdowns in the opening half and came within a point of the Bulldogs early in the fourth quarter. That was where the O-G comeback ended as the Bulldogs added a fourth quarter score on their way to a 21-13 Western Buckeye League win over the Titans. Comment?
