    Lions hold off Rockmart

    The Central High School junior-varsity football team improved to 3-0 behind a 15-14 victory over Rockmart on Thursday night. The Lions opened the scoring on a two-yard Ray Cheeks touchdown run with 2:41 remaining in the second quarter and it was a defensive struggle from there until the final nine minutes.

A stout defensive effort along with strong first and fourth quarters offensively made the difference for the Lions in a 27-7 victory over Georgia Christian in Trinity's final non-region game of the regular season.
