    Focused Cary-Grove a regional champ

    The much-improved Dundee-Crown girls volleyball team could not keep determined host Cary-Grove from returning to championship form in Thursday's Class 4A regional final. Cary-Grove, which won the 4A state title in 2009 and finished runner-up in 2010 and 2011, won its first regional title since that remarkable era by sweeping the Chargers 25-19, 25-18.

    Huntley firing on all cylinders entering postseason

    Needing to take home the victory to secure a home playoff game and tie a school record for wins in the regular season, Huntley eventually found its offensive groove. Scoring on every possession except for their first, the Red Raiders cruised to an easy 59-14 senior night victory over Dundee-Crown Friday night in Fox Valley Conference Valley Division action.

    Cary-Grove tuning up for playoffs

    Cary-Grove's Larkin Hanselmann is one of the Trojans' smaller players at 5-foot 7, 150 pounds, but his words after a 56-0 thumping over Dundee-Crown at Al Bohrer Field in Cary Friday night spoke volumes if anything about the Daily Herald's third-ranked team and the top-ranked team in Class 7A according to The Associated Press. "We just keep getting better and better," said the speedy senior WR/DB who had a 56-yard touchdown run and an interception.
