A look at the highs and lows of what happened during the 6A quarterfinals, semifinals in other classifications of the high school football playoffs: Easy as 1, 2, 3 : Is anyone surprised that it's Jesuit , Sheldon , West Linn and Sherwood in the 6A quarterfinals? Those four were a tour de force throughout the regular season, losing only to one another. Their combined score from the quarterfinals was 150-28, with two shutouts. Comment?

After Summit handily defeated Crater in the 5A semifinals at Grants Pass High School on Saturday, a Super Bowl ring flew through the air. Summit started rolling in the first quarter, a period where the Storm scored 21 points in 41 seconds at one point, and a time where a slew of penalties derailed Crater. Comment?

No question. The seventh-ranked Falcons proved that to be the case over the last couple of weeks, defeating ninth-ranked Silverton , third-ranked Bend and second-ranked Wilsonville in the Class 5A state playoffs, and advancing to a state final for the first time since 2000. Comment?
