    Plaquemine dominates trenches to handle Parkview

    Plaquemine wasn't fancy, but there was no denying the Green Devils on Friday night as they controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball against District 6-4A rival Parkview Baptist. What the Green Devils' performance lacked in style was more than compensated for by their effectiveness in a 34-15 win over the Eagles.

    Scotlandville defense provides spark as Hornets top ...

    The only person unhappy with Derrius Williams' game-changing interception for Scotlandville was his teammate Jahvon Grisby - not including the Live Oak offense the duo battered all Friday night. Grisby who saw the pitch from quarterback Sal Palermo and broke through the line to bat the ball in the air, but Williams made a spectacular diving catch over Grisby deep in Eagles territory.

    The term "trap game" comes to mind when considering the matchup between LSWA Class 5A fourth-ranked Catholic High and McKinley Friday night at Olympia Stadium. On one hand, there's Catholic High that could be looking forward to a collision of titans next week at third-ranked EA and looking to repeat as Division I state champions.
