If Newnan's defense didn't remember the frustration of last year's loss to South Cobb, assistant coach Dustin Alley presented a couple of reminders while quarterbacking the Cougars' scout-team offense this week while preparing for Friday's Region 3-AAAAAA opener in Austell. Alley, who once helped defeat Newnan High in the mid 2000s while playing for current Cougars head coach Mike McDonald while the two were at Union Grove, did his best to simulate the improvisation that South Cobb has become known for on offense the past two years. South Cobb will induct the third class of its athletic hall of fame this weekend, recognizing them before Friday's football game against Newnan and then inducting them in a ceremony Saturday. Comment?
