    Ravens edge Trojans, 62-61 | SPSL boys basketball

    Julian Gulchuk scored 18 points and Quintin Bethea had 15, leading Auburn Riverside to a 62-61 win over Auburn in a South Puget Sound League 3A game Friday night. Dennis Beard had 10 points, Austin Kirby scored nine and EJ Taylor finished with eight for the Ravens .

    Iyana Galarza scored 15 points, Olivia Denton had 13 points and Faith Turner finished with 12 as Auburn Riverside defeated Auburn 51-25 in a South Puget Sound League 3A game Friday night. Auburn Mountainview 51, at Enumclaw 38: The Lions dropped the Hornets to move to 15-4 overall and 11-3 in league.

    NPSL returns as Seamount League folds

    The North Puget Sound League is returning to the local high school scene for the first time since it folded following the 1998-99 school year, but now the Seamount League is set to disappear. The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association has set the state's school classifications for four years starting this fall and that triggered the changes.

    Those signing scholarships are: Gresch Jensen ; Gavin Robertson ; Vaughn Daggs ; and Christian Rotter . Jensen, a 6-foot-3, 212-pound quarterback, threw for 2,922 yards and 30 touchdowns in leading the Lions to an 8-3 season and a berth in the state Class 3A playoffs.

    Renton schools to change sports leagues next year

    A change in classifications, based on enrollment, will most likely lead to the disbanding of the local high school sports league after this season as the schools of the Seamount League look to join other local sports conferences. In Renton, Hazen has opted-up to a 4A classification and will join the newly re-formed North Puget Sound League while Renton and Lindbergh will most likely play next year in the South Puget Sound League.

    Boys basketball Tyee hosts Evergreen for a 7 p.m. game Wednesday as Kennedy entertains Foster and Highline travels to Renton. At the same time Friday Kennedy is at Highline and Tyee at Foster with Evergreen hosting Hazen.
