    Silver Bluff's Tarron Jackson headed for the coast

    PETTICOAT JUNCTION ­- When Coastal Carolina makes the move to the Sun Belt Conference and FBS football next year, Silver Bluff's Tarron Jackson will be making the jump with it. The defensive end signed a letter of intent to play football for the Chanticleers on national signing day.

    Silver Bluff was looking for a hot start Friday night against Wade Hampton following Tuesday's loss at Ridgeland-Hardeeville. An odd opening to the game – with two technical fouls in the first 26 seconds – delayed that briefly, but the Bulldogs didn't let that affect their composure.

    South Aiken outlasts North Augusta

    Leading North Augusta by two with 1 second remaining, South Aiken couldn't have asked for a better candidate to attempt two potential game-icing free throws than Melvin McKie. After all, the sophomore guard had just made a pair from the stripe 5 seconds before to give the Thoroughbreds a four-point edge.
