    Devonte Hill ran for 237 yards and five touchdowns as Silver Bluff came from behind to beat Andrews and move on to the Lower State final. He carried the ball on 17 of the Bulldogs first 19 carries to start the second half.

    Big second half propels Silver Bluff into next round

    After Silver Bluff's come-from-behind 55-34 victory over Andrews Friday in the second round of the Class AA, Division II playoffs, Bulldogs head coach Al Lown said he'll have to get his son-in-law to handle his usual Thanksgiving Day duties. That's because on Thursday, the Bulldogs will be preparing for a shot at another lower state championship.

If each game and each big play seemed to be magnified as the regular season and region races came to a close, then they were intensified even more by Friday's bigger stage as the playoffs kicked off for all area teams but those in Class AAAA.

    After three drives of Friday night's Class AA Division II opening round game, Silver Bluff had already racked up 24 points on just 18 plays. The Bulldogs kept rolling from there en route to a 38-7 victory over Woodland.

    Hegarty, Hilton Head come back to beat Aiken

    The Hilton Head Island defense, manhandled in the first half by Aiken's big offensive line, held the Fighting Green Hornets scoreless in the second half, and Aidan Hegarty and company did the rest, scoring 20 unanswered points to lead the Seahawks to a 27-20 win in the first round of the Class 3-A playoffs. After Aiken's tandem of quarterback Bryson Jones and running back Brayton Sanders tallied big play after big play in the first half, the Seahawks held the Hornets to a punt, two failed fourth-down tries, a three-and-out and an interception in their final five possessions.
