Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping together commissioned the last phase of the Norochcholai Power Plant this evening at a joint event that remotely linked the Presidential Secretariat with Norochcholai via a fiber optic network.

Sept 12, Colombo: Sri Lanka police today found the abducted four-year old girl Tamara Keshani Bandara Wijekoon in Nirawiya area about 12 kilometers away from her home in Gonagama, Wellawa in Kurunegala district, Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said. According to the police, the child was abducted by a family relative, a known sexual predator, and kept in his house but abandoned when his brother became aware of the incident.
