Will justice do justice in Ferguson?

It has been over a month since Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, Mo., and we have yet to hear the police officer's version of events. Was Officer Darren Wilson badly injured in his scuffle with Brown? Did Brown attempt to seize the officer's weapon? Did Wilson have reason to fear for his own life? None of these answers has been forthcoming, which is odd and, frankly, suspicious.

New Orleans man convicted of manslaughter in stabbing death of his boyfriend

A 50-year-old man who claimed he killed his boyfriend in self defense has been convicted of manslaughter in the 2012 stabbing death. An Orleans Parish jury late Friday found Kristen Hunter guilty in the death of Marcel Ivory, who was stabbed once below his collarbone and died of a severed aorta in Central City.

Sturgill suffered multiple knife wounds, prosecutor says

Bobby Dean Sparks will contend at trial that he killed Sammy William Sturgill in self-defense, his lawyer said in court Thursday, but prosecutors say Sturgill's wounds were extensive while Sparks' were nearly non-existent. "The victim in this case had multiple stab wounds in the chest, right atrium , abdomen and upper right chest, and blunt force trauma to the head and neck," Assistant District Attorney NancyLee said.

Police: Zimmerman accused of threatening driver

A driver says George Zimmerman threatened to kill him, asking 'Do you know who I am?' during a road confrontation in their vehicles, a police spokeswoman said Friday. The driver, whose name hasn't been released, told Lake Mary police officers that a truck pulled up to his car Tuesday, and the driver yelled, "Why are you pointing a finger at me?" The truck's driver then asked the man, "Do you know who I am? I will kill you," the man told police officers, said Officer Bianca Gillett, a police spokeswoman.

A Worcester County grand jury last week formally indicted two local men for their roles in the death of a Pennsylvania man following an alleged brawl on a downtown street in late August. Caleb Edwin-Earl Ochse, 27, of Ocean City, and Christopher Blake Kendall, 22, of Wilmington, Del., were indicted on several counts including manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, affray, disorderly conduct and intoxication-endanger another for their roles in the melee that allegedly led to the death of Justin D. Cancelliere, 37, of North Whitehall, Pa.

Despite prior widespread media coverage, a retrial can go ahead later this month for a white, middle-aged man charged with killing an unarmed black teenager during a dispute about loud rap music, a north Florida judge ruled on Thursday. The defense wanted a change of venue after a Jacksonville jury previously deadlocked on a charge of first-degree murder for Michael Dunn, 47, who claimed to be acting in self-defense in the shooting death.
