Leon Houston found not guilty on all counts

Leon Houston walked out of court and headed home a free man today after a Roane County jury found him not guilty on all charges in the May 2006 deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along friend.

“It’s a heavy burden that’s off my shoulders,” he said. “God answers prayers. I just thank him for bringing me through this. It don’t seem real.”

According to District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn’s office, Roy Wayne Killion, 32 pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and driving on a revoked license on Monday. It was part of a plea deal which comes with a 20 year prison sentence.
