I have never seen so much disgust for nativity scenes as I have now.

All I've seen is people who don't want them on government property. And they are right.

Put it in your church yard. If somebody bothers it there, I'll shoot 'em myself, but keep it OFF the courthouse lawn.

Yes, it's real and I think it has been for a long time. we need to keep Christ in Christmas, it's his birthday!!! We should think more about the gift that was given a long time ago. Merry Christmas everyone & Happy Birthday Jesus , I will remember your birth and your resurrection!!!!

No, I don't have to convince myself about anything. I believe the war on Christmas is real and not only about Christmas , but about God in general. I "know"" the reason for the season, Jesus Christ, and I will celebrate his birth , no matter what other people do or don't do. people have turned Christmas in to something that it's not. And it shouldn't be about how much money u can spend or the most expensive presents either. The true meaning is Jesus being born and coming to earth and what he has done for us !!! We should think more on the gift that was given a long time ago. have a Merry Christmad everyone and ""Happy Birthday"" Jesus!!!!!!

Aiso I would like to say, there might be a war going on about Christmas, but for me personally, I will celebrate the reason for the season, Jesus and nobody.... can change

Really? Haven't seen this at all. It is a religious holiday to be celebrated by those of that faith, not the government and not sanctioned by the government.

The "War on Christmas" is a storm in a teacup. Then someone posts it to the web and it is, "real", it's terrible, we're all victims.

nonsense. Go do what you want to do for Christmas and remember when one of the other faiths has a holy or special day and support them as you wish to be supported. That is what Christmas is about.

Right wing nut jobs? So what is your classification? Other than intolerant idiot?
I personally do not attend any 'church' & DO believe in "No endorsement" of religion by goverment but I also do believe in the endorsement of the 1st amendment for the freedom of religion & speech so that YOU can go on line, in newspaper, radio or TV to show the world how ignorant you are.
Isn't the 1st amendment great? It allows YOU to show how stupid YOU are. You couldn't do that in China, Russia, Cuba, Pakistan, North Korea, Saudia Arabia, Iran, Yeman, Indonesia, Greece, Libya & on & on.
In AMERICA YOU have the freedom & right to be an IDIOT. YOU also have the freedom to emigrate. Isn't America great?

There might be. Pagan winter festivals involving many of the customs of Christmas existed 1000's of years BC.

Instead of the first Christmas, why not celebrate the third? That'd be the one where Herad killed all the 2 y/o males in his kingdom. Thanks a lot Lord!

Let the church put nativity scenes on government property. That way, there won't be a division of church and state. Then the church will have to start paying their fair share of taxes. I wonder how much tax can be collected off those collection plates?

Well first of all, most Christmas traditions are based off of pagan ones (read your damn history). December 25th has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus, Yeshuah, but it originated as the celebration of the birth/rebirth of the sun god. Jesus wasn't "born" in December at all.
As for Santa Clause...
According to ancient Babylonian tradition, Semiramis claimed that after the untimely death of her son/husband Nimrod, an evergreen tree grew overnight from a dead tree stump. Semiramis claimed that Nimrod would visit that evergreen tree and leave gifts each year on the anniversary of his birth, which just happened to be on December 25th.

So as for a "war on christmas"... it wasn't your holiday to begin with.

There is a war on Christianity as a whole. Would like to see it put towards Muslims and see what happens.
