I like the pick, all though Mr. Ryan was doing a good job in Congress. VP's usually are not very involved in policy and I don't see Ryan's policies being placed higher than those of Romney.

In the big picture I wish Ryan would have stayed in Congress.

These are some of the comments I have read from the pundits about why Ryan was the pick.

Romney picked Ryan because he scents defeat, and wants a reason to blame his loss on the conservative wing of the party. That's the theory offered by two op-eds from the Washington Post and the National Journal.

Allegedly, Romney realized that he was poised to lose a race he was supposed to win, since at the start of August Obama had gained a small lead in the polls. That's the key to understanding the Ryan pick, according to the National Journal's Noam Schieber:

The pundits are idiots! Let us make that point, first and clearly.

If Romney wins in November and Paul Ryan would have been in house leadership position he would have been a HUGE pain in Romney’s but. Ryan would have pushed even harder for less government, smaller government, less spending and lower taxes for all (all who actually pay taxes) with a majority in both the Senate and House and a sitting Republican President.

The other possibility is that over these many years since Romney was govern he has decided to get off his hands and knees in the middle of the road, pick a side and stand tall.

He's a conservative thinker, and knows something has to be done with non contribution entitlements.
Some losers are making a career by living off the backs of tax payers, and it's bankrupting the country.

Ryan can actually clearly define what conservatism is. It's a bout time the republicans put someone forth who could.

He has business smarts, knows how to get this country out of the financial mess it is in and has a like-minded person in the form of Mitt Romney, our next president.

I guess the whole state of Florida doesn't think like you folks here.

Obama is ahead in the polls here, thanks in large part to the not so bright Hispanics. I say not so bright because behind the scenes Obama has deported more of them than any other president. Check this out. It's just the latest. Republicans never did this kind of stuff.

One good reason for that would be since 1964 the social security trust fund has been drained by liberal Programs put forth by the Johnson administration and liberal democrats. Those programs were called "The Great Society Programs". That's the main reason SS is broke. If these morons wanted more socialism to finance illegitimate kids, people that had no desire to work ,and gov't housing they should have been forced raise taxes to fund this BS, but instead they raided our trust fund. The only way to protect SS is to privatize the program and keep it seperate from the gov'ts
general budget. All this trust money was to be used as a supplement for retired SS contributos, and not for illiterate social programs.

Please subscribe Yes we shall move forward and yes we are building that! However I have another announcement:

THE REPUBLICANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ECONOMIC DOWNTURN! They must be held accountable for their actions! Speaker Boehner (who cries) stated his mission is to unsit the President! However he will soon discover that his speaker-ship is at risk! Therefore he shall cry in the evening time on election night and he shall lose his right to speak over a broken house! Give the speakership back to Nancy and we shall forge legislation for the middle class!

A former republican and I approved this message!

Every state shall turn blue and Texas shall turn blue too!

Republicans needs to confess their sins instead of lying and standing in wake like the snakes they are really are!

Heartless, then why is it that the heads of GOP, which I guess you mean the leadership out give the Democrats every year when it comes to charitable giving.

Wait I need to correct myself, the GOP donates more of their own monies to charities while the Democrats give far more of other people monies through government.
