They will not drill for the best interest of the U.S.- To the bankers and politicians itís about monetary gain, and not about what needs to be done in the best interest of the people. For the oil to be used for U.S. consumption only would make too much since to them and not be profitable to them. That's exactly what the U.S. would do with the oil is consume it but not want to buy it with more of their tax money which would come out of their pay checks. We speak as if we're living in a world of perfection and a world that makes since for the people. We shouldn't act surprise when they sell the oil off to the highest bidders

Obama supports drilling for oil in Brazil, but not in the USA. Obama wants to fulfill the dream of HIS father who hated Western European culture.

I don't understand why you say our tax money would go to purchase the oil we produce here?

I have read all of the posts on here and a lot of the people are living under a "propaganda" umbrella. There are a ton of safe guards to prevent disasters in drilling. It is true some companies do not operate properly...but, most do. We (The United States) have enough natural resources to sustain our selves. Automakers are looking into natural gas vehicles. You can convert your regular combustion vehicle for about $500 and we have more than enough and it burns clean. We cannot close our minds to change we have to try and take it as it comes. NO that is not a political statement as I feel no one ever wins when you argue politics. You are right and I am right (i.e. no one wins).

This post is not ment to attack anyone just trying to do my part to inform from another prospective.

Not only that, but the CEO of Chesapeake Energy made a good point yesterday on TV (Kasich's summit I was telling you about). Each and every person is writing a $2,000 check to the Arabs each year. When we were a rich country, we could afford that luxury. Now that we have squandered much of our wealth we can no longer afford that luxury. It's best to develop as much of what we have here as is practical - at least the money stays here.
I know Chesapeake Energy. It's a solid and safe company. After many years of study, turned out the pollution in the Chesapeake Bay was caused by farm run off, not any energy company's operations.

But any hope of energy independence or cheaper energy went away Tuesday. A lot of hope went away on Tuesday.
