We absolutely need oil for energy. We need to increase our own supply of US oil production and decrease our dependacy from foreign oil from our enemies.
Drill Here and Drill Now. Instead of $1B USD per going to Saudia Arabia and Iran, we should invest in alternative fuel development. In the meantime, Drill Here and Drill Now.

need for oil is great.much more people die and much greater ecologic damage is by obtaining oil through wars than through offshore drilling.go ahead-drill.

We need oil. We either buy it from the crooks in the middle east or exploit our own resources and take a chance with damaging the environment. I would much rather see the US take the chance by drilling in Alaska, the Gulf and off of the Atlantic and Pacific coast. Research in alternative power is encouraging but it may be 75 years or more before we abandon fossil fuel for those sources.
