SHAME ON YOU PROPAGANDIST
Break down of the Occupy Wall Street people.
Traffic on the Occupy Wall Street site averaged about 400,000 visitors a day during the sample week (October 7th), which represents more than 10% of the population. 1619 people completed the survey.
Not surprising, nearly 2/3 of the protesters are under 35. But one in three is over 35 and one in five is over 45.
81.3% of respondents considered themselves White, 1.3% Black\African American, 3.2% Asian,.4% Native American Indian, 2.9% Mixed, 7.7% Hispanic, and 3.2% considered themselves some other group.
Only 7.9% of respondents lack at least some college.
27.4% have some college (but no degree), 35% have a college degree, 8.2% have some graduate school (but no degree), and close to 21.5% have a graduate school degree.
70% of respondents had jobs. 50.4% worked full time. 20.4% worked part time.
Only 13.1% are unemployed.
47.5% of the sample earns less than $24,999 dollars a year and another quarter (24%) earn between $25,000 and $49,999 per year.
71.5% of the sample earns less than $50,000 per year.
15.4% of the sample earned between $50,000 and $74,999.
The remainder 13% of the sample earn over $75,000 with close to 2% earning over $150,000 per year.
27.3% of respondents considered themselves Democrats, another 2.4% said they were Republican.
Interestingly, a very large proportion of the sample, close to 70.3%, considered themselves Independents.
Cordero-Guzman concluded that the 99% looked like the 99%.
The one way they did significantly differ was in gender. 67% were male. 30.9% were female and 2% preferred another gender designation.
92.5% of the respondents either strongly or somewhat agree with the protests. Over 91.8% believe the movement is likely to grow.

Thank You, opinionpedia. But, it doesn't work like that.
Short of a Gallup pollster interviewing everyone in Manhattan on or near the encampment--and always assuming some aren't just blurting to hear themselves blurt--your statistics, like any statistics, are unreliable. Votes...can be counted (possible exception of Y2K). Your figures, like anything from Gallup to Roper to whatever Daily KOS dreams up that morning, are what's known in common parlance as "ballpark guesstimations". I consider those as reliable as the continuing reports of Elvis frequenting 7/11's.
There's no use telling you, that the "movement"--a fad, like the hula hoop--will go away when the headlines seriously begin to stale. No serious coverage? No Brian Williams? No Margaret Cho with a mike in her face? No story. No attention. Annnnnnd, back to the bread and circuses!
It's easy for a person, in given moment, to say, "I agree with _______". Asking for open, serious (and possibly material) support, that's something else again. You won't get this, I assume with a username like yours, you're some should-be-jailed, then-taken-to-Gitmo-and-tortur ed hacktivist from Anonymous, but buddy-o, you CANNOT move it from the pinnacle, because the pinnacle doesn't want to be moved. You CANNOT move it from the base, unless you're Gandhi (because that was about "race"). And, that leaves only the center. The center sees you as a threat, because they see your kind as wishing nothing less than a complete overhaul of the American way of life (most Americans Not being polled, will tell you they could give a rat's ass about the rest of the world). It's a grass roots belief, that the changes you wish represent a kind of "burn the Capitol Building" Bolshevism. It matters little, whether that is true. Perception is a powerful thing.
OWS is in the news, because the story is in itself, sensationalism. It's what America craved, Long before Reality television, i.e. "tabloid, tabloid, tabloid". But, what with police brutality, random crimes including rape and the odd veteran blowing his head off, the carnival atmosphere has gotten nasty, and after awhile, the Center--which, you desperately need--gets a sour stomach over that, witness Vietnam and Iraq. They are turning on you as you ready your reply to this (which, I won't read, BTW, so don't bother; I'm an extreme Rightist, and Rightists don't, as you know, believe in debate). Truth is, GW would have sent troops armed with more than rubber bullets; Guiliani would have had your crowd hosed like blacks in Selma.
As the Former Speaker has put it, almost every American is angry, and they have a right to be--but, there are OWS supporters, and then, there are people like YOU...and, without getting into character assassination, let us say that the failure of anything Left of Center--and anarchism is by default, Left of Center--is that rainbow coalitions Do Not Work, witness everything from Populism to the Coughlinites to Henry Wallace to the Reform Party. They don't work for one reason: Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations, automatically 86's any chance for unity (beyond "Duhhh" and then "The Man" most of your volk are spitting on camera). Where there is glorification of individualism, there can Be No Cohesion. This is why OWS, eventually demonized due to criminal acts or ignored due to dropping ratings and audience share, Must Fail. It's going to, Baby Boy. It's already packing its bags.
It's a safe feeling to believe that God is on your side, or the Forces of Right and Righteousness, whatever you like. But, you keep wanting this to be like kicking the British out of India, and for that, I suggest you get the Caucasoids out of your "movement". Because "race" will forever be feared as an issue, but when the center--or the pinnacle, or even a chunk of the base--see "white" bellyaching on TV, the kneejerk is "get a job, loser".
Accuracy no longer matters, child. The school system died, long ago.

Oue family is struggling everyday. My husband is working two jobs now, He works at Mitsubishi. He used to get good benefits, and a fair wage. Now, with cuts in pay and benefits, plus paying student loan for our son. How could we survive unless he got another job. I am on disability. That only goes so much. Not enough to get by without more income. My son also has a student loan, plus a pell grant, and the only job that he could find with a college degree is at Kroger and he is only part time. We have the right to understand how the rich get richer, on the backs of the 99%

Kathy, you have a lot courage posting a message like that on this right wing facade. Anti-Flower FoolTool above is going to say you're a whiny pinko with the moral verticality of a lemming and in dire need of some personal hygiene. He thinks if you're struggling in this G-R-E-A-T country of ours you are by definition, stoopid and laaaazy. So he has absolutely no interest in hearing your story or the 50 million others just like it. No he's only interested in maintaining the status quo at any cost. If it means selling our representative form of government to the highest bidder or losing our constitutional rights or the destruction of the natural world for profit or slaughtering a few million innocent people so we can manipulate their government and resources--well, that's just the way it works in the REAL world, his world.
Fortunately for the rest of us people like Butt Suck there are in the minority and because of the awakening that's now taking place, thanks to the Occupiers we have hope that the corrupt political, economic and legal system that spawned and support his ilk will face a day of reckoning.
