For one...they should be protesting in D.C. against our reps...not wall street wall streets only doing what our reps allowed.

My question is why are they not protesting Hollywood and professional athletics. These people make more money than a lot of the Wall Street people.

Comments like that should really have folks flocking to your cause. Wanna see stupid.....watch the film clips of the arrested "occupiers" being dragged off to jail. Fines, probation, police records.....and they don't even have a unified cause as to why they're occuping places. Now that's stupid.

Wall street is not the problem; although it is 5% of the issue. You need to focus on the government and its spending. Once fixed; the rest will follow: Jobs, Prosperity, and Hope!@

Not really sure what occupy wall street is about but if it is against the system and its people; you really should understand before you make a stand of such proportion!!! Without wall street we could not have the internet per say! You could not buy a car much less a house. Yes, they have gained and we have fallen behind but 4 years ago, all was great! People had their share and we all could care less! From the day you become an adult you should actively know why things are the way they are! If its too good to be true then that; it is!!! Stop fighting amongst each other and hold your government accountable. Hell! the members of the us government can not be punished for insider trading! Wow! and you want to occupy wall street! This is what they want us to do; fight and divide; then conquer! How sad. The one thing we have, even without education, the ability to know the basics of right and wrong; has been lost in the fight! Mean while, they gain power to take that right. GOD help us; the patriot act most assuredly want! Focus on the basics and the rest will unite! We all bleed! Lets unite for a better understanding of a real fight; our rights!!!

I think it's awesome. People are sick and tired of being sick and tired and they're making themselves heard. Our country was founded on people speaking up for what they believe in.

So RR, how's all this "Occupy this & that" going to change anything. Camp in public places, make a huge mess, and then.........what? No plan, no organization, no goals, just a useless mantra of "We're the oppressed and we ain't takin it anymore." Get a job, mind your own business, tell your camper buddies to clean up after themselves, and if you really have all that much heartburn over corporate employees, just don't use their services.
You sound like a close minded oldtimer that has no clue of whats even going on in the world if we all just sat down and let the goverment do what ever they want then we shoul just give up everything we owne and be slaves to our goverment do what they say when they say Sorry that is not going to happen we will have another civil war becouse to many Americans fought for us not to be like that

Pretty confident they'll never be another American Civil War...."Occupy" movement is simply civil disobedience, plain and simple. Don't like government, then VOTE. Find a candidate that best represents your views and support them. That's how Americans change government. Sitting on your butts in public places and whining about who knows what won't change anything. State your cause, something more explicit than " it ain't fair the rich get richer each year". Then propose a solution. Ask a hundred different "Occupiers" and you'll get that many different answers. Some movement. The whole "Occupy" movement is a joke and the politicians voicing support for them will soon get the message. Just VOTE youngun.......that's what Americans have really fought and died for through the years. But you wouldn't know anything about that, not being an oldtimer.

Ezercising free speech is what you're doing right now on this forum. Don't hurt a soul. Occuping public areas and ignoring local ordinances isn't free speech, it's breaking the law. Just what are you looking for? Politicians who make decisions based entirely on "What's best for the populace". Maybe a government that creates social equality by "taxing the rich and giving to the poor". You said "no one thing is going to fix everything". Fine...I agree. Wanna change Washington. Work so you personally feel the pain of paying taxes, then vote. Vote your wallet, your conscience, or just your preference for a particular individual / party. But vote.....that changes Government. And show a little patience. Took Americans around seven years and some tremendous luck to claw away from England, four more years killing one another to decide whether they were one Nation or two. Good things don't generally come cheap or quick. One very simple fact......the American government will always be a reflection of what the population votes in. "Occuping" as a poliitcal tool won't work. Politicians will tolerate it only through next years elections. Just wait, this foolish movement won't "scour".

Um...you keep saying "get a job", "work"...when that is ONE of the problems! There are NO JOBS!!! VOTE???? Does it even matter anymore? ALL politicians are bought and sold, like our country, like our JOBS! People ARE going to revolt...it is enevitable. Sorry. Wait and see.

This is only the FIRST of many movements...it only takes a little bit, just a little, of common sense to see when things aren't right...and people are starting to open their eyes! Another thing, DONT WATCH FOX NEWS!!!

Another fanatic, banner waving "Occupier", fresh from the website, chimes in with......well, nothing specific. Once again, things ain't right, so revolt. Talk about bought and paid for, dig deep enough and you'll find extreme right wing liberal "RICH" folks like G-man Soros and his friends pushing this pathetic movement. It's a joke; no clear message or agenda, no specific complaint, no leader to speak of, no suggestions of how things need changed, just more woe is me so bring down or change the Government. No jobs....Really....What is the unemployment rate now, around 9.5 to 10 percent I believe. Here's a though. Stop unemployment right now and watch that figure drop. I will wait and see what the "Occupy" movement accomplishes, chuckling the entire time. I say, soon after the next Presidential election, both parties will turn on the movement (if it even lasts that long, which I doubt). You're being tolerated, just barely, because its an election year. Wanna occupy something, go find where that rich arsed Hollywood producer M. Moore lives and "occupy" his yard. He's your buddy. I'm sure he wouldn't mind a few thousand disgruntled free loaders hanging around a week or so. Or, keep occupying public public places, get pepper sprayed and hauled off to jail. Some choice.
Does it ever occur to you occupier folks that the real life and death revolts going on around the middle east are efforts to change their governments to something similiar to what you're gripping so loud about. As far as voting goes, in America, if you don't vote, you are the problem.

Yeah, same thing those "Flower Power" hippies of the sixties said way back then. All of them finally got hungry, got kicked out of public places and got jobs. Heck, some of them are the very politicians you're fussing about. I predict, with absolute certainty, America will be just fine in 20 more years, likely a little more left of center than we are now, but that's what happens as populations grow. Not my personal preference, but I'm not going to lose sleep worrying about it. I also predict, within 20 years you'll probably have a job, responsibilities, and an overwhelming desire to vote and make things better. I don't need to wait and see. Your little semi-political movement ain't nothin new. At least those hippies had a central, well defined goal; "Make Love, Not War". Kinda catchy; easy to remember. Wasn't their movement that stopped the war. It was those five o'clock newsreels showing dead American boys that spurred "VOTERS" to action. Voters changed America's Vietnam experiment.Hippies were just a colorful sideshow, just tolerated but mostly ignored, kinda like your efforts.
