that risky position in the first place.
Banks steal 3 trillion dollars in tax payer money. Corporations own all of our politicians. Banks crash the world economy. America is involved in multiple wars. Our country is in debt 15 trillion. Countries are collapsing around the world. 100,000 people are out in the streets of America protesting against this all this.

And you bitch about a guy peeing on a cop car?

Are you getting paid to be a topix propagandist or what?

O.k. Common man speaking here. Big business moved elsewhere to make more money. We promoted big business by buying the goods they provided on price and name alone, regardless of quality. In the process of buying, we lost the necessary skills to provide for ourselves. America's answer? Camping out on streets and hoping for a handout. Get real people. Office jobs are at a premium. Time to relearn how to spin yarn by hand and keep yourself warm. Wanna fight big business, buy American if you can afford it! If you can't, do without! Most importantly, do away with the big bill cell phones. Otherwise, stop crying and dig, scrape, and find your way to happiness. Maybe my ignorant arse is missing the point, but I don't see too many people suffering in our great nation. Please enlighten me if I am wrong.

I think you make some good points about buying American, but I haven't heard anything in this movement that I would call asking for a handout. I would argue that things like affordable healthcare and living wages aren't luxuries like a cell phone, but rather basic rights that are endowed to us by our creator. As far as no one suffering, keep in mind that locally we've benefitted from Army spending and auto industry bailouts, so we have it a little better than many.

You guys are all a bunch of idiots that are very misinformed. I think everyone here, on both sides, should read a book. If you can make it through a whole book, that doesn't have pictures, come back and post.

Can anyone thoroughly explain the ows movement? I honestly don't know what it stands for. A fair shake you say? Protesting against the people that invest their earnings to make more earnings off of you? Does that really make any sense? Time to get back to basics and stay on that path. Do away with the name brands and make it with what you have and need. Hell, we could all take a lesson from the Amish way of life. The majority of America lives like they think they're from Hollywood. Pull together and help your brothers and sisters. Most importantly, remember that the best things in life are free!

Without looking it up, I think it has hovered around 4-5 percent since the early 90's and started creeping up in the mid 00's as more and more manufacturing was outsourced. To me, that really is what OWS represents--telling corporations that isn't OK to hurt America just to improve the bottom line and telling politicians that they have some responsibility to limit that kind of behavior. As you mentioned though, people need to also speak with their wallets by buying local and vote for candidates who are willing to put the interests of America over their own fundraising needs. The protestors are building awareness, but its up to us to follow through on the message.

The poster immediately above is mad because he lost his job tending the french fries at Burger King. He cornered a mentally handicapped co-worker in a walk-in refrigerator and raped her.

Personally, I think more Americans need to grow Balls and stand up against their Government and Stop letting them screw over the American people. You blind people out there think you know so much, pft, you dont know $hit about what is going on in this country or what is going to take place in this country. You are so tied up in your so called perfect little pathetic lives you dont see what is going on around you right in your face. I will pray that you sheep wake up and see the light SOON.

Seems like Etown has a lot of issues that could use demonstrating against, but the short time I have lived here I have come to see that people here are mostly talk and no action.
