Bush left with a mess. Obama has made a difference and could do more if Congress wasn't trying to play politics.

http://springboro-ohio.org Springboro Business is much harder to hold onto since no one has extra money. I closed down my shop of 11 yrs in Springboro as it was the worse it has ever been and with Obama getting in again, It isn't gonna get any better.
Since Obama took office, the National Debt is higher, Gas Prices are higher, Unemployment is Higher, Executive Orders are higher, Government Spending is Higher, Taxes are Higher... And he has no one to blame for the last 4 years but himself. All he has done for the last 4 years is campaign for this term, Now that he is back in, I for one do not look forward to the next 4 years with him as the Chief.

When stating that "everything costs more", one should take a look at historic inflation rates.

High inflation = your money is worth less.

Deflation = your money is worth more

The above web site goes all the way back to the early 1900's and includes the Great depression as well as great inflationary times (ie; 1980)

Lets take a look at inflation adjusted oil prices.

The sharpest spike of course was during the OPEC oil crisis in the 80's The second sharpest spike was during that Texas-oil mans' presidential period from 2000 to 2008

The same Government Public Serivce Union Employees Own the State of Ohio!

Local union employees have no one but themselves to blame for their greed for more...more...more....

It'a a Tax and Spend Addiction that is out of control!

Saying Yes to the unnecessary levies ..."help us help you" is not the cure.... Just say NO more easy fixes!
Just find levy alternatives to fix your fire district budget,
providing quality government services while living with its means.

Time for our community activists to stop bashing bush and
attack runaway costs of "labor" unions in Ohio..

Truth is.... that no matter which "political party" is in elected official power in Ohio, the Taxpayers NEVER get a break from the heavy financial burden of Ohio's state law of forced unionism.

Buckeye Taxpayers know, based on the last 20 years, raising taxes is always the choice selected by school districts. They only cut programs and staff as a threat to get residents to raise taxes. As for REALIGNING the big costly compensation packages, it NEVER enters the conversation.

Truth is, with our current Ohio government's BELIEF that government should pay salaries at a level competitive with the private sector, this UNFORTUNATE and COSTLY outcome of FORCED UNIONISM is not a surprise. Public service IS supposed to be
"sacrificial; meaning, you sacrifice PRIVATE SECTOR pay to serve a larger cause--public service workers SACRIFICE higher pay in the private sector for JOB SECURITY and A DECENT PENSION.(Neither of these securities are guaranteed for Buckeye Taxpayers working in the private sector). Today, both political appointees and bureaucrats get gold-plated pay and benefits largely non-existent in the private sector. The answer is NOT to increase the tax burden on Buckeye Taxpayers still possessing jobs; The answer is not to promote a continuous stream of school levies increasing local taxes on homeowners. The answer is for local governments
(including school district) to REDUCE SPENDING on salaries and compensation pakcages of public service workers (including union employees of Springboro school district.)

In 1989, nearly 25% of Ohio's workforce was Union. That number has dropped to around 10% in 2012. The number of state employees has been falling even more dramatically in recent years. While the corporations continue to drain the capital from our local communities, blaming unions for the loss of revenue, I fail to see how the apparent losers in the battle between profit and community serve as anything ther than a boogeyman for the profiteers to hide behind.

Ohioans live with a basic reality. Taxpayers never get a break from the heavy burden of paying higher and higher taxes, carrying the high cost of forced unionization and outdated collectively bargaining laws.
Most local governments, whose revenue comes from property taxes typically predict that compensation package costs, the single largest component of local budgets, will rise roughly FIVE percent or more year after year. This means that property taxes must inevitably rise to cover these generous compensation package increases.
Since taxpayers never get a break, local taxes rarely, if ever, get lowered. Fact is, local governments constantly seek higher income taxes.

But most importantly Ohioans already provide state and local governments with a generous level of tax revenue that should cover the cost of providing government goods and services.
Ohio does not suffer from a lack of revenue. If state and local governments had restrained spending even just a bit over the last two decades, those entities would not need another dime of tax revenue!

NO NEW TAXES!

No matter how much public school teachers think their services are worth;
they are only due as much as taxpayers are willing to pay.

I don't know about you, but my 401K crashed when Bush was in office (Dow plunged to approx. 6500). Since Obama has been in office, my 401K and the market has taken off!! The DOW is the highest it has ever been!! Corporations are also sitting on record profits. They're just not hiring. I say that I'm doing MUCH better since Obama was elected. Thank you Mr. President!!
