It matters not what i want to believe look at history. Any of the Medical people said it was a mental illness until the politicians got into it and now look how far you have come! But at the end of the day it is still your choice to be mentally ill!

<quoted text>No one is trying to strip them of their citizenship or rights. What people are saying ,and doing is protecting the family, and the foundation of our society. The majority of "Americans, of this "Republic"don't want homosexuals to marry!..We don't want to redefine what marriage is,and the way it is,has worked for us for over two hundred years and counting, and has been the norm throughout the world for longer then that....We don't need the Left to change tradition, like it has with everything else.....Marriage is a bond between a man and a woman that produces "children"...The mutual masterbation of "homo's produce "nothing but rashes and disease"..........
Thinking as if only the promiscuous side of homosexuality exists... and is somehow worse than promiscuity in general... you are indeed a sad, sad fellow, trapped in a dark, depressing world aren't you...

Also... what definition of what marriage is changing? We wouldn't dream of legally trying to redefine religious marriage, since we have separation of church and state and other such morals. And the legal contract that we give the title of "marriage" is just that, a legal contract, meant to be signed and filed by two people wishing to share homes, finances, families and lives for as long as they can, in the same way that all married couples can.

Oh and your main problem is that they can't produce children... How about those married couples that try and realize that the husband is shooting blanks, or the wife is either barren or unable to safely carry a child. In other words they are a heterosexual couple that can't produce a child... what then? Are they an illegitimate couple? Do they not deserve to be married? Does that mean they love each other less? Does that mean their relationship is somehow amoral or wrong? What then?

And honestly... if you truly believe that the only positive thing that two people can produce together is a child, then you truly are trapped in a dull dismal world...

That's the thing with history... it's all in the past. Things change over time. There was also a point in history when people believed homosexuality was from demons and evil spirits. Get with the times dude. While looking at the past IS important what's just as, if not more important is that we look at what new evidence exists now, and what this could mean for the future.

That also depends on where you look... Exactly what evidence was altered? Based on my personal experiences, most of the newest evidence is fairly accurate... most of it... and what isn't doesn't seem like it was some kind of alteration, but rather a misconception or misinterpretation on the part of the researcher, or a theory that has yet to be efficiently proven. And seriously, while politics can be evil, not everything can be altered by politics. Have you ever had a a friend who was bi, or homosexual? Have you interacted with people of these preferences in any way whatsoever? If you would get to know even one I'm sure you'd find that most of these new findings are pretty much true...

Special rights my foot! Did you know there was a point when being discovered as a homosexual couple used to land both participants in jail for time equivalent to rape charges? And that was if people around them didn't flip out and kill them first. They just want to have the same rights as couples as anyone else would... that's it. The ONLY reason it became political is because the democrats appealed to gay rights in a desperation move for votes during the 80's.
Also... "poisoned blood supply"? "std's the norm"? "life expectancy drop"? Are you serious... You've gotta be kidding... what proof, study, experiment, statistic, or article gave you that idea? Besides, one can argue that std's will become a norm either way...if it hasn't already. They DO pass between men and women too you know and teens and young adults particularly have been more reckless in their sex-lives than ever.
We didn't have aids!,did we?.So what is your point, other then the Left's point of view!....

You'd rather complain about a group of dudes who suck cox for a living rather than worry about some kid shooting up a school full of children, not once have you even brought up Mr Sandusky from Penn state. Maybe because he is a Conservative as yourself? Most of the diseases were brought on by the early settlers....You know the old saying they died by the spanish sword, well that sword was the diseases those settlers brought to the natives.

Actually some scientists believe we did have it before. Just because we didn't discover it until a certain point doesn't mean it didn't already exist long before that point. It's an immunodeficiency... Until scientists got a better bearing on the workings of the immune system, it would have been impossible to detect. However, as it is a constantly mutating type of virus, so it develops quite quickly. In fact there was one strain of HIV that medical experts believe existed for at least 12 years before it was recognized... and that was when the disease was being actively researched. How long might that have taken for scientists to stumble across if they weren't looking for it?

Also, homosexuality existed LONG before HIV presumably did.

My moral outrage aside, you didn't answer any of my questions. Also, the reason the person you witnessed probably seemed trapped I suspect was because he was surrounded by insensitive, stubborn, jerks like you and likely feared the judgment and looks of disgust. Even worse, the disapproval from family can be really damaging, and I would guess that if they were young, then that went about as badly as possible with their parents. In an environment where homosexuality is "frowned upon", to put it nicely... people raised in that kind of environment only to realize that they still lean that way are in quite a fix. First it goes against what they were raised to believe so it becomes an inner conflict. Then, if they get up gall to give it a try, there's the risk of being ostracized and rejected by the environment, the home they've known for so long. They could just pack up and go somewhere else, cut all ties, start over and leave that world behind, but that's a terrifyingly difficult thing to do. If they had a more acceptable environment to begin with, they probably would have been ok. Although it's a bit hard to ask other people to change. People are cold and cruel to what they don't understand, it's just the natural way of things. So options were slim; ignore it and go on as if they don't lean that way, try it and hide it, or move and find a place where they could be more comfortable about it, which (assuming this was pre 80's) was next to impossible. Even now, it's still pretty difficult.

Try this: Imagine there is something you like, a hobby, a toy, an activity. It's nothing illegal, and it doesn't hurt or even involve other people, but you know that everyone you know would judge you for it. Some people are strong enough and have enough self-confidence to say they're fine with it and not worry about everyone they know and love judging them, but a lot of people do not have such confidence. Now imagine if someone found out about your "horrible" secret and suddenly all of those friends who'd smile and laugh with you, won't look you in the face. Suddenly family and loved ones are either angry, or lecturing you, or just ignoring you. Suddenly, the world you've always known is crumbling away and you have no clue how to fix it. Old friends and even some strangers are jeering at you, cursing you, calling you names. Anyone who does look your way does so with disgust or hatred in their eyes. Most humans, being the social creatures that we are, would crack under such conditions. You think of moving away, but despite everything the idea of being completely alone in a strange new environment is kinda scary, and the thought of never being able smile with those loved ones again is even scarier. Also you think you'd feel kinda pathetic, like you're running away. Besides, you don't know where you'd go anyway. So you stay, hoping you'll find a way to patch things up, but as time goes by it feels more and more hopeless. You even quit the thing that made everyone upset, but it's too late and giving that thing up just made you feel empty, like you gave up a part of yourself. Everyone you care about treats you like crap and you start to wish you could just disappear so they could stop being so angry...

How does that make you feel? Do you blame yourself for liking something that you are legally perfectly free to like? Do you blame those you love, for not accepting and loving you back? You don't want to blame either really... but...

That's off topic, but FYI I personally disapprove of abortion unless in certain dire situations. So yeah... Very nice of you to judge me on something I never gave you anything to judge about, jerk.

Also, while i know there are some people out there who can get an abortion like it's nothing, the one person I know who HAS gotten an abortion suffered so much emotional and mental trauma from the entire ordeal that she tried to commit suicide afterwards. It's a very serious decision that no one should take lightly.

You act like abortion just started in the last for years, women have been aborting babies for centuries rather legally or illegally, but now its Obamas fault.. I don't think God's ultimate plan was to make the USA number one in economics. Your just a bitter old man, plain-n-simple
