No one's "rights" are being violated by not having "gay marriage." Gays already have the right to marry under current law - they can marry someone of the opposite sex. Since they choose not to exercise this right, due to their chosen behavior, they are not being discriminated against nor deprived of any rights.

It's the gays who are being melodramatic by comparing themselves to Rosa Parks and associating themselves with the civil rights movement. I'm sorry, but Rosa Parks didn't get herself arrested so that gays could attempt to legitimize their activities.

Tell me one good reason why gay people shouldn't be allowed to marry someone of the same gender?

It's just sick and wrong - that's the only reason one needs in order to be against it. In addition to that, it's not a marriage! Just because two people have sex and say they love each other doesn't mean it's a marriage. Marriage is a union between one man and one woman. You can't just change that by popular vote. Gays want gay marriage because they want society to endorse their lifestyle. They're not being discriminated against, because they already can marry someone of the opposite sex. Instead they want to change the definition of marriage in order to get society to applaud their lifestyle. Besides, if this is such a private issue, why can't they keep it to themselves? Usually gays are screaming for the government to get out of the business of their private lifestyle choices, and now they want government to approve it? Doesn't make any sense to me.

He should be *more* assertive about civil rights so that anti-gays are the ones that feel they need to be in the closet.
