New type reactors using the pebble bed method and small 10 megawatt units that can be buried with near zero chance of catastrophic radiation release should be looked at. Toshiba has new technology that would greatly benefit Alaska bush communities. Galena is in line for a test run of super low risk design. I think it needs attention despite the current negative attitude produced by the Japanese earthquake tsunami disaster.

Nobody is aware of the deep consequences of nuclear contamination. Lots of information has been hidden from the public about the Fukushima nuclear reactors disaster. It is not only what you see but also what you don't see in the form of food contamination, land contamination, sea contamination that will last centuries. You might not see it when you land in Japan but rest assured is all around you. Of course, you will not die immediately but later on cancers will show up and the rest of it. Japan and Alaska are beautiful nature sanctuaries and we want it like that. No need to install primitive energy sources. Money and intelligence should be directed towards clean energy. We can do better than that. Let nuclear energy die. Its a thing of the past. Donīt let money makers fool you. THERE IS NOT SUCH A THING AS NUCLEAR ENERGY SAFE TECHNOLOGY. Do not play with something you will not be able to control or clean away. Alaska has a strong nature and it will surpass any of your predictions. Who thought such an earthquake and tsunami would come over Japan. NOBODY was prepared. Nature is unpredictable.
