This is a start up drug that lead to bigger drugs.People that are caught with as much as a bud or a roach should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

lets see, we have crack heads and herion addicts roaming the streets of Worcester killing and robbing every week yet weed is the big bad gateway drug? How many people have died as a direct result of weed? How many people OD on weed every year? How many people beat their wives while on weed? How many do these things on alcohol everyday? yet we are ok with alcohol being sold in every corner store but god forbid some one smokes a joint watching TV. OHHH NOES!!!!!

I support marijuana legalization and also think it is a gateway drug. But alcohol is also a gateway drug. Or sniffing glue from a tube when you are 12 years old. It's a double standard to say that alcohol can be legal when weed is not. Thats also related to the idea that "illegal drugs" are incredibly destructive by default. It's possible to use drugs and still be a functioning, righteous member of society. Tax it, regulate it, slap a 21 or older rule on it. Alot of people don't understand another side of the story, which is that in the early days of prohibition many companies and corporations wrongly worked against weed because hemp (a product made from the male, non psychoactive plant) can be used to make a million different things and would promote competition.

My opinion is that marijuana possession should be illegal in Massachusetts

My opinion is marijuana sales should very well be against the law in Massachusetts from now on and it should very well be outlawed, too!
